East or West: which should I play?
GolfPass calls the East course a little more difficult, with tighter fairways, smaller greens and 14 doglegs. The West rewards accuracy too, and its 17th hole is a 180-yard par 3 along a lake. Both opened in 1980.
What is Bear Creek known for?
Arcis says Bear Creek has hosted PGA Tour qualifiers, the Texas State Open, an AJGA national event and Northern Texas PGA events. GOLF Magazine once named it one of the six best U.S. courses within a five-iron of a major airport. And yes, planes fly overhead, which is part of the experience. Arcis invested about $1 million in upgrades in 2021, including East course bunkers and practice range improvements.
