PXG was founded in 2014 by Bob Parsons with a simple pitch, build the best clubs possible without worrying about cost. The 0311 Gen6 irons, released in 2023, are the clearest example of what that approach produces.
The face
Gen6 irons use a milled, ultra-thin variable face, about 15% thinner than the previous generation, built from five-times-forged steel. Trimming that mass off the face lets PXG reposition weight low and to the back of the head, which helps both launch and forgiveness.
Precision milling
The back of each head is CNC milled after forging, a slower and more expensive process than casting, aimed at tighter tolerances and a more consistent center of gravity from club to club.
