The Spider line has been one of the most played mallets on tour for over a decade, and the True Path alignment system introduced on the 2019 Spider X is a big reason players trust it under pressure.
True Path
TaylorMade developed the alignment system with the sports optics team at Indiana University, studying how golfers actually see the ball at address. The result is a thicker center alignment line, about half the width of the ball, designed to help golfers center contact more consistently.
On tour
The Spider Tour X and Spider Tour L-Neck have been used to win multiple majors in recent years, evidence the wide, high-MOI mallet shape works as well for elite players as it does for weekend golfers.
