About the Scotty Cameron Phantom X
Scotty Cameron launched the Phantom X line in April 2019 as a family of modern, high-stability mallets that replaced the Futura line. Most heads pair a stainless steel body with a milled aluminum face, and two interchangeable heel-toe weights let the head weight be tuned. The line came in several head shapes and neck styles, from low-bend to straight shafted, with bold alignment lines and sight dots.
How to identify your Phantom X
The Phantom X name and the model number, such as 5, 5.5, 7 or 12, are marked on the head, usually on the sole. The number is important, because each one is a different head shape with its own neck and alignment setup. Also check the length and the weights in the sole. What affects your Phantom X's trade-in value
For a putter, the face and sole tell most of the story. Bag chatter, dings on the topline, worn or chipped paint fill and scratches on the face all lower the condition grade, while a clean face and crisp milling help it. A worn or torn grip and a bent or rusty shaft also count against it. Length matters too, since standard lengths are the easiest to resell.
Cameron refreshed the Phantom X lineup with new models after 2019, then moved to the Phantom name in 2024, so which generation and model number you have makes a difference.
