Dallas-Fort Worth has more ways to play golf indoors than ever: five Topgolf venues, Trackman simulator lounges in Fort Worth and Dallas, 24-hour members-only sim clubs, and indoor putting courses in The Colony and Addison. This guide sorts them by type so you can pick the right one for a date night, a winter practice session or a lesson.

We checked each venue's own website (or local press where noted) in October 2026. Hours, prices and locations change, so confirm with the venue before you go.

Coming soon: GolfRoots will soon have its own indoor golf space, so stay tuned. Until then, you can hit clubs on the simulator in our Farmers Branch shop, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Why is indoor golf growing so fast?

According to the National Golf Foundation, a record 48.1 million Americans played golf in 2025, and about 19 million of them played only off-course, at ranges, simulators and venues like Topgolf. The NGF's 2025 simulator report counted 8.1 million U.S. simulator users in 2024, up from 3.8 million in 2015, and 51% of them had not played a round on a real course in the past year. In DFW, where summer heat and winter storms both cut into tee times, that shows up as a new simulator lounge every few months.

Where can you play Topgolf-style bays in DFW?

These are the big entertainment venues: hitting bays, food, music and scoring games. Good for groups and beginners.

  • Topgolf has five DFW venues: Dallas (8787 Park Lane), The Colony (3760 Blair Oaks Drive), Allen (1500 Andrews Pkwy), Fort Worth (2201 E 4th St.) and Grand Prairie (3670 S State Hwy 161). All use Toptracer ball tracking and list golf lessons. Fort Worth and Grand Prairie also offer Topgolf Coach lesson packages.
  • BigShots Golf Fort Worth (15700 Golf View Dr., Fort Worth) is a hitting-bay venue with interactive games and mini golf in the Alliance area.

Which DFW simulator lounges are open to the public?

Simulator lounges trade the outdoor range for screen golf: you can play full rounds on famous courses, practice with launch monitor data or join a league.

  • Five Iron Golf, DFW Near Southside (824 W Daggett Ave., Fort Worth) runs Trackman simulators and offers lessons and Callaway fittings. It is Five Iron's only Texas location, so there isn't a Dallas one yet.
  • X-Golf has three area locations: Frisco (5977 Preston Rd), Alliance in north Fort Worth (9409 Sage Meadow Trail) and Rockwall (2455 Ridge Rd). Lessons are taught by PGA pros.
  • 1611 Golf Club has simulator clubs in Fort Worth, Burleson and North Richland Hills, with Trackman bays, a full kitchen, leagues, lessons and memberships.
  • Birdies Golf Lounge in Victory Park (2401 Victory Park Ln) has three Trackman bays and a cocktail bar, per CultureMap Dallas. Note that a different chain in other states uses a similar name online, so search for the Victory Park location specifically.

Are there private, members-only golf simulators in Dallas?

Yes. Scratch Golf Club is a members-only simulator club open 24 hours a day, with app entry and Trackman simulators. Its locations include 2111 Flora St in the Arts District, 12250 Inwood Rd and 5401 W Lovers Ln in Dallas, and 1855 Dallas Pkwy in Plano. Private clubs like this suit golfers who want to practice before work or late at night without booking around crowds.

Where can you putt indoors?

If you want a fun night that is all short game, three venues focus on putting rather than full swings:

  • PopStroke The Colony (5770 Grandscape Blvd) has two 18-hole putting courses designed with Tiger Woods' TGR Design and TaylorMade, with app scoring.
  • Puttery (5762 Grandscape Blvd, The Colony) has four themed indoor 9-hole courses.
  • Puttshack Addison (Village on the Parkway, 5100 Belt Line Rd.) is indoor mini golf with automatic scoring.

Can you test golf clubs on a simulator before you buy them?

Yes, and it is the smartest way to buy a used driver or iron set. A simulator shows ball speed, launch and spin, so you can compare a club against your current one instead of guessing. At our shop in Farmers Branch you can try clubs on our in-shop simulator before you buy. We're open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, at 13260 Josey Ln, Suite 106. See our Dallas shop page for directions.

If your current clubs are the problem, the shop can also regrip and adjust loft and lie, or you can trade in your old set toward something that fits. Browse used drivers, used iron sets and used putters online.

Which indoor golf option should you choose?

  • Group outing or first-timers: Topgolf or BigShots.
  • Real practice with data, or a lesson: Five Iron, X-Golf or 1611 Golf Club.
  • Practice any hour of the day: a members-only club like Scratch Golf Club.
  • Short game and a fun night out: PopStroke, Puttery or Puttshack.

FAQ

How many Topgolf locations are in Dallas-Fort Worth?

Five: Dallas, The Colony, Allen, Fort Worth and Grand Prairie.

Does Five Iron Golf have a Dallas location?

Not as of October 2026. Its only Texas location is DFW Near Southside in Fort Worth.

Is simulator golf good practice?

Yes, especially for full swing and gapping. Launch monitor data shows carry distance and spin for every club. Short game and putting feel are harder to simulate, so mix in real greens when you can.

Can I bring my own clubs to a golf simulator?

Most simulator lounges let you bring your own clubs, and many also have house clubs. Check the venue's policy when you book.
