What is Luna Vista like to play?
The course sits in the Trinity River floodplain, so the greens are elevated and the layout is flat and walkable. GolfPass reviewers say it rewards accuracy off the tee, and the par 5 17th stretches to about 570 yards. It shares the sports complex with a tennis center and the Elm Fork Shooting Park, so you may hear the gun range during your round.
What is the history of Luna Vista?
The city opened the course in 1969 as L.B. Houston. All 18 holes were redesigned and the course reopened in 2012 as Luna Vista, with the renovation done by Colligan Golf Design. Architect John Colligan learned to play golf at this course as a kid.
