SIM2 followed the original SIM driver in 2021, keeping the same core idea, an asymmetric carbon sole shaped to move mass toward the back of the head, and refining it further.

Inertia Generator

The nine layer carbon sole weighs about 12 grams, far less than the steel it replaces, which lets TaylorMade push more weight to the rear of the head for a deeper center of gravity and higher MOI.

Face and shape

Paired with Speed Injected Twist Face technology, the asymmetric sole is also angled to cut through the air more efficiently during the downswing, adding clubhead speed on top of the forgiveness gains.
