Callaway Elyte: the standard model

The standard Elyte is shaped for speed, launch and forgiveness, with a 13 gram weight that can sit in neutral, draw or fade positions. It comes in 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees.

It suits most golfers, from mid handicaps to better players, who want forgiveness with the option to tune shot shape.

Callaway Elyte X: draw bias and high launch

The X is shaped for high launch and forgiveness with a draw bias. Its 13 gram weight has neutral and draw settings, and reviewers found it still favors a draw even in neutral. It comes in 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees.

It suits golfers whose miss is a slice and who want help getting the ball airborne.

Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond: low spin for better players

The Triple Diamond has the smallest footprint in the lineup, a 450cc head, and Callaway calls it the lowest launching and lowest spinning Elyte. Interchangeable front and back weights let you choose between more stability and less spin. It comes in 8, 9 and 10.5 degrees.

It suits fast, skilled players who want to control flight and shape shots more than they need maximum forgiveness.

Callaway Elyte Max Fast: lightweight for more speed

The Max Fast is an ultra lightweight build, pairing a light head with a lighter shaft and grip to help you swing faster for more carry. It comes in 10.5 and 12 degrees.

It suits golfers with moderate or slower swing speeds, including many seniors and women, who want more distance without swinging harder.

Which Elyte should you choose?

  • If your swing is slow to moderate: the Max Fast.
  • If your miss is a slice: the Elyte X.
  • If you are a mid handicap with a fairly neutral miss: the standard Elyte.
  • If you are a low handicap with plenty of speed: the Triple Diamond.

What should you check when buying one used?

  • Crown and face. Sky marks and light paint wear are cosmetic. Look for cracks, dents or chips, especially on carbon crowns and faces.
  • Weights. Make sure the sole weight is present and tight. On the Triple Diamond, check both front and back weights.
  • Hosel. Make sure the adapter tightens properly and note the loft setting it is in.
  • Shaft. The shaft matters as much as the head version. Check the flex, weight and length. Not sure which flex you need? Read What Shaft Flex Do I Need?

Every used club at GolfRoots is listed on its own with exact specs and a 1 to 10 condition grade, so you know exactly which version, loft, shaft and flex you are getting. Our guide to what wears out on used clubs covers this in more detail, and every order comes with 60-day returns.
