A short history of Ping
Karsten Solheim, an engineer at General Electric, started Ping in his garage in Redwood City, California in 1959, and moved the company to Phoenix in 1961. His Anser putter, introduced in 1966 and named after his wife Louise's suggestion of "Answer," has won more than 500 PGA Tour events and is one of the most copied designs in golf. Ping is still privately owned by the Solheim family.
How do I identify my Ping golf club?
Ping prints the model name on the sole of woods and the back of irons. Ping irons also carry a color code dot or line on the hosel that shows the lie angle they were fit to. Our guide on how to identify your golf clubs includes the Ping color chart.
What are my Ping golf clubs worth?
It depends on the model, how long it has been out, its condition and current demand. Recent G-series drivers, fairway woods and hybrids and i-series irons get the best Ping offers. Classic Ping Eye 2 irons have a loyal following, so complete sets and replacement irons still have buyers. The calculator gives you a real number in about a minute, and our guide on what your golf clubs are worth explains what moves the price.
